DJ Zinhle headlines networking gathering at Wits

Wits students were encouraged to network with potential employers at a meeting of the Golden Key Chapter.

Local celebrity DJ Zinhle joined representatives of top companies and students at the annual Golden Key Wits chapter Corporate Breakfast.

Held at the Wits Club early this morning, the breakfast gave top performing students an opportunity to meet and network with potential employers.

Ntombezinhle Jiyane, known as DJ Zinhle was the keynote speaker at the event and used her speech to motivate the students in attendance to work hard. “Have a vision and goals of what you want, you need to be confident in your own journey,” said Zinhle.

Zinhle was upbeat about employment prospects in South Africa, telling students, “the possibilities are endless in this country”.

“A new sense of direction down their respective chosen career paths”

Representatives from big name firms in the finance, insurance, legal and media industries were in attendance to share insights on what it is like to work for them.

President of Golden Key Wits Chapter Michelle Dezulovic said, “We hope students leave here with a new sense of direction down their respective chosen career paths”.

African Languages masters student Lorraine Shabangu expressed her disappointment that her career options were not addressed at the event. “In future I would like to see representatives for students in the faculty of Humanities,” said Shabangu.

The Golden Key International Honour Society recognises students who are high academic achievers at tertiary institutions globally.
